About Us.

John and Susan Schopp

“This is a concept that has evolved over the years into a great addition to the community. It is a win-win-win proposition. The neighborhoods win, the small business advertisers win and we have the pleasure of running a fun and successful company. This is a concept that DESERVES to be franchised.”

John and Susan Schopp created, started, operated and are now franchising their business concept of Neighborhood News. Neighborhood News is a “neighborhood communication company” that is the inspiration behind our new franchise company, Neighbors Choice, LLC.

Our goal is to help residents get the news and information they need from their neighborhood leaders and the larger community and help neighborhood leadership to deliver it.
We have been in business since 1996 and during that time have worked with neighborhoods from all walks of life. Neighborhood sizes ranging from 200 to 10,000 and income levels from the low 60’s to millions.

We work with both voluntary and mandatory associations and differing kinds of communities. We are not a glossy magazine that only caters to upscale neighborhoods. All of our products are specific to individual neighborhoods and the news and information come from neighborhood leadership. We are a service company.

We partner with local businesses that are eager to reach the neighborhoods they serve. They know that our superior product is important to the residents. We regularly get calls from neighborhood residents inquiring as to when their newsletter will arrive.

We also offer many other products such as websites, e-blasts and e-alerts, social media management, and surveys. Additionally, we ARE a printing and mailing company. We can help your community with all of its printing and mailing needs.

And now, this concept can belong to you. We are looking for some pretty special people. People who are community minded, have excellent sales and people skills, are down to earth, and want to serve their community while building a fantastic business.

Thank you for visiting our site and if you have any question, please send an email to:  info@NeighborsChoice.com

Churchill Estates Homes Association, Inc. uses Neighborhood News (1) monthly to send out our Newsletters, (2) semi-annually to send out certified mail to our residents, and (3) annually to notify residents of the annual meeting and to send statements to nearly 900 residents. Their fees are very reasonable, their staff is friendly and professional, and their services are performed on time and done right the first time. We have been using them for years and shall continue with them for years to come.

I have written articles for The woods of Shavano Newsletter for several years. After writing the articles, I forward them to Ariel Due who does a wonderful job of formatting them and adding creative illustrations and photos. When asked to have them sent out by a specific date because of upcoming events, she does her very best to have that done. She responds quickly to any changes or requests we make. We’re quite pleased.

I have been PR/Special Events Director for City of Windcrest for a little over a year. In the last 7 months we have been able to get our Monthly Newsletter into our residents mail box on or before the 1st of the month. The Neighborhood News team has committed to this strict deadline and has come through for us. We are able to make changes to our proof and they help tremendously with graphics and layout. Proud to have them in our corner.

I received the April newsletter last week. It looked fabulous! The Board of Directors is very pleased with the newsletters and no complaints from homeowners …which is good. Kinda “No news is good news” philosophy. LOL

Our experience with Neighborhood News has been a positive one. We prepare our inputs, email them, and within a day or two, we get a beautiful draft back. They are receptive to our questions and concerns and handle our last minute changes with ease. We always receive a quick response from Ariel and couldn’t ask for a better account representative. We would absolutely recommend Neighborhood News for your newsletter!

My name is Linda Nolder. I took over as editor of our neighborhood newsletter in the year 2014. I had never even thought about doing this type of volunteer job. The person that I was taking over for convinced me that Neighborhood News was so easy to work with that I would never have any trouble. In the 7 years I have done this, I can say that I have found this to be MORE than true. I love the fact that once submitted to them, I’m done and need not worry until the next due date. I love working with Neighborhood News.
